Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry is an age defined specialty that provides both primary and specialty, comprehensive, preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence including those with special health care needs.

Pediatric dentistry includes preventive dentistry, operative dentistry, oral surgery, preventive and interceptive orthodontics, prosthodontics, periodontal therapy and the treatment of oral diseases in children. The Department aims at integrating all the disciplines of Pediatric dentistry for better patient care and graduating exceptional dental professionals who can translate their knowledge into clinical practice that will promote the oral health of the community.

The Department also seeks to educate students to be life-long learners, who will continuously seek to improve their knowledge and skills and be competent in providing comprehensive treatment to the children and serve as a resource for community oral health care and advanced scientific innovative research in dentistry.


Our aim is to carry out the dental treatment of the child effectively, efficiently and safely and at the same time encourage a positive attitude so that the child is willing to return for further treatment and will look after his / her dentition at home.
