1. Dental Graduate as a Scholar and Scientist
At the end of the program graduate of BKCD should be able to
• Demonstrate an understanding of establish and evolving, biological, clinical, histological, epidemiological social and behavioral sciences
• Apply core scientific, medical, and dental knowledge to individual patients, population, and health system
• Describe the etiology, pathology, clinical features, natural history, and prognosis of common oral and dental diseases.
• Describe prevention and treatment of all conditions relating to oral and maxillofacial region specifically and overall body systems generally.
• Understand basic knowledge of medico legal cases
• Access critically appraise integrate and apply evidence from the medical and scientific literature
• Apply knowledge of common scientific methods to formulate relevant to research questions and select applicable study designs
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellence evidence-based practice and the generation of new scientific knowledge
2. Dental graduate as a clinician
At the end of the program graduate of BKCD should be able to
• Gather information from the patient regarding orders and general health
• Perform general physical examination extra oral and intra oral examination
• Integrated and interpret findings from the history and examination to arrive at definite diagnosis including the relevant differential diagnosis.
• Select and justify Common investigations with the regard do the pathological basis of disease, Utility, safely, and cost effectiveness with interpretation of results
• Perform safely a range of common dental procedural skills
o cavity preparation (typodont and on patient)
o RCTs
o Removable and fixed prosthesis
o Administration of local anesthesia
o Tooth extractions
o Cast analysis
o Ceph tracing
o Wireworks
o Scaling and root planning
• Manage patients with common dental procedures
• Prescribe medication is safely and effectively
• Manage medical and dental emergencies
• Retrieve, interpret, and record information effectively in clinical data systems (both paper and electronic)

• Understand health policy and planning
• Understand occupational hazards
• Demonstrate preventive practices related to communicable, non-communicable diseases and injuries in community
• Explain the impact of socioeconomic determinants of health-related events
4. Dental graduate as a professional and leader At the end of the program graduate of BKCD should be able to
• Demonstrate communicate skills with patients, their family, and all health professionals effectively and sensitively.
• Follow protocols and standard guidelines for history taking, examination, infection and control, pre- and post-treatment
• Apply bioethical principals in patient care and research following recommended guidelines
• Understand legal and professional responsibilities
• Demonstrate professional values of integrity, honesty, compassion, empathy and respect for all patients and population
