Introduction

The Department of Orthognathic Surgery at Bacha Khan Dental College (BKDC) and Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) is  a specialized academic and clinical unit dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of dentofacial deformities. The department aims to provide high-quality, evidence-based surgical care while fostering excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate education, clinical training, and research.

To become a leading center of excellence in Orthognathic Surgery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by delivering ethical, patient-centered care, advanced surgical management, and high-standard academic training.

Scope of Services

-          Management of dentofacial deformities

-          Orthognathic surgery (single-jaw and bimaxillary procedures)

-          Management of facial asymmetry

-          Surgical management of skeletal malocclusion

-          Treatment of cleft lip and palate–related maxillofacial deformities

-          Pre-surgical assessment, model surgery, and treatment planning

-          Post-operative follow-up and rehabilitation

Multidisciplinary Approach

The department works in close collaboration with the Department of Orthodontics at Bacha Khan Dental College to ensure optimal functional and esthetic outcomes through coordinated orthodontic-surgical treatment planning.
